What information do the Applications obtain and how is it used?

In order to perform their function, the Applications read audio data from your device's microphone, or another audio source attached to your device. This audio data is processed then discarded immediately; the result of this processing is displayed on screen then discarded immediately. Neither is stored, sent over a network, or shared with any party in any form, other than being momentarily displayed on-screen.

In addition, the Applications may collect certain information automatically, including the type of device you use, its operating system, and a unique device identifier. This information may be sent in encrypted form to the Website (linotune), respectively an advertising provider (linostrobe lite). The Applications do not collect specific information about the location of your device.

User-Provided Information

In order to perform their function in the manner you prefer, the Applications may obtain and locally store your choices for any user-configurable settings.

For use beyond limited trial periods, linotune also requires an activation key. From time to time this key is sent in encrypted form to the Website, where it can be correlated with the information you provided during its purchase.

What information does the Website obtain and how is it used?

Automatically Collected Information

Like all websites, the Website records certain information about your visit, including but not limited to: internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, and gathering demographic information.

We retain your information at least for as long as it is necessary to operate our business and provide our services to you. This can be a long time: German tax rules, for instance, require us to maintain certain information about your purchases on the Website for at least 10 years. If you'd like us to delete information that you have provided via the Applications or Website, please contact us and we'll do what we can.
